Hi, and welcome to ultrapig.com. ultrapig is a site dedicated to SNORT, Sourcefire's open source network intrusion detection system (NIDS).

Who

Ultrapig is run by tgiles. Whom also happens to occasionally run idlethreat and other miscellaneous websites across the net.

What

Snort is an open source network intrusion prevention and detection system (IDS/IPS) developed by Sourcefire. Combining the benefits of signature, protocol and anomaly based inspection Snort is the most widely deployed IDS/IPS technology worldwide. With millions of downloads and over 225,000 registered users Snort has become the de facto standard for IPS. Ultrapig is a community site for Snort users, enthusiasts, and other geeks whom happen to happen to enjoy a good packet sniff once in a while. While Snort.org has their own message boards, tgiles had a hankering to take it in a different direction.
